We Are Unique!
Ushago Homestead, is unique in that it is a typical traditional Kenyan style, tribal accommodation. Ushago house was built using the traditional natural building mud technology, inherited from our ancestors. We are passionate about keeping it simple, and natural and co-existing with nature.
The moment you enter the homestead, you find yourself immersed in the Abaluyia culture - one of the largest tribes in Kenya. It creates a genuine, authentic cultural immersion experience for all visitors.
Ushago Homestead represents the cultural and tribal inheritance of Kenya. It aims to present and preserve this inheritance, embracing all Kenyan tribal cultural groups through its architecture, deco, food activities, landscape and hospitality.
Accomodation
Ushago Homestead sits on an one acre semi chicken farm. The serene garden are filled with filled with trees, including banana trees, flowers and indigenous shrubs, with birds, butterflies, squirrels and sounds of cows mooing nearby. It is a peaceful and healing environment.
The homestead has its own private entrance, a covered outside verandah, and a spacious open plan kitchen and ‘dinning area. It also has a living room area, with a fireplace. There are outside shower and toilet facilities a stone throw away from the main house. There is a bbq area and a ‘hang out place’ where one can sit quietly in the midst of nature. There is also access to the rest of the garden, including the vegetable garden, the chicken farm and the camping site.
The house sleeps 12 people in total. It has one large master bedroom, which accommodates up to six guests and three single beds that are able to accommodate two guests each. Rooms are simple without any frills. Linen is provided, we however ask guests to bring their own towels. Solar lamps and water are also provided. There is off road parking and security too, is provided.
Ushago Homestead Campsite.
We have our camping site right next to Ushago House. Set in a small secluded area, the campsite is ideal for families and groups of friends looking for a relaxing break and an escape from their busy life!
The nights are so clear and you can see a zillion stars in a sky that is free from light pollution, perfect for stargazing.
Guests bring their own camping equipment and we provide water and space in our campsite.
We are able to provide the following at a cost:

· a cook, who will shop and cook you traditional meals.
· a driver and a car for your travels
· hand wash your laundry
